week 4 EOC Business marketing and consumer marketing

The difference between business and consumer marketing is the quantity and quality between the two. think about it, a washing machine thats built for a public laundromat will make noise from its power. seeing that the laundromat is surrounded by similar noisy machines, the noise is unnecessary for a typical home. especially the fact that its not stylish for a mom that wants her home to look unique, and not like their grandma's home." the two markets are dissimilar in other ways requiring marketers to take a different approach when selling to business customers than to consumers."- Knowthis.com Business vs Consumer Markets
the business makets gain a better quanity of whatever it is that they need to buy. for instance the amount of computers in an office building can vary compare to a one-bedroom apartment. in vice versa one company may have many trains while most americans dont own a train. this varies between what and why they need this product.
"GE locomotives might not seem glamorous to you, but they are beautiful brutes to those who buy and use them. In this market, GE’s real challenge is to win buyers’ business by building day-in, day-out, year-in, year-out partnerships with them."- page 158 Marketing: An Introduction for Education Management Corporation.  in marketing, the buyer gets as much information on the product before its used for commercial property or usage. while the typical costumer gets to know what they want to know about the product. for example, a corperation may need a type of voltage to easily convert from one country to another, while the american citizen wont care as much about voltage compatibiliy because its just for him in america.
"As noted in the discussion of the Buying Center, organizations often employ purchasing agents or professional buyers whose job is to negotiate the best deals for their company.  Unlike consumers, who often lack information when making purchase decisions, professional buyers are generally as knowledgeable about the product and the industry as the marketer who is selling to them."Knowthis.com Buying difference: experienced buyers
